First,
let me introduce myself. My name is Melissa Barber;
I am a permanent make-up artist and aesthetician. I
would like to share with you how I began in the
permanent cosmetic industry.

In the spring of 2001 I was doing a facial on one of my
clients and noticed her permanent make-up and was quite
impressed how natural it looked, I knew right then I had
to have mine done. It turned out her sister in Dallas,
TX was the one that performed the procedures, so we took
a road trip!!
Even though my eyes were a little puffy, I thought this
was the best thing I have ever done for myself and knew
I had to learn how to do permanent cosmetics. I had
completed my training in Dallas, TX and I became
licensed in Arkansas and Missouri. This all happened in
the fall of 2001, I opened the doors of Permanent
Solutions and I have been doing permanent cosmetics ever
since!
In 2003 I began training students in the art of
permanent cosmetics and Para medical procedures (scar
revisions, areola restorations etc.) this year I have
introduced Permanent Solutions Institute of Permanent
Cosmetics, a licensed school with the state health
department and state business board. The school has one
other instructor besides myself ,Bill Brickell of the
Cutting Edge Studio in Eureka Springs, Ar ,with over 15
years of combined experience, we train in all aspects of
permanent cosmetics, tattooing, body piercing. We use
only top of the line equipment .
My permanent cosmetics training includes all area’s of
needling, color theory, sterilization, sanitation,
history of permanent cosmetics and para medical
procedures, equipment usage, pigment analysis. To
further my education and experience, I attend
conventions and seminars yearly. I am certified in para
medical procedures, SPCP, AAM, Blood Borne Pathogens,
Animal art and tattooing for identification register,
Eye Shading, Eye brows and micro- hairlines, the art of
lips and also a member of Alliance for safe practice.
