Permanent Eyebrows

Whether you've lost your own eyebrows to over-plucking, disease processes such as (Alopecia) or for patients after chemotherapy, this is by far the most sought after procedure. Eyebrows frame the face and give it expression. Shay takes great consideration for each individuals bone structure and skin tone. Incorporating her artistry with custom precision and the desire of her client. Soft color is implanted combined with hair strokes complete a natural looking brow. Customized colors are chosen at the time of the procedure. You will not look like you just came off of an assembly line. If you do have sparse hair in the brow line Shay will shape the hairs to compliment and create the desired shape.

Permanent Eyeliner

You can choose an eyeliner that is placed just at the lash line to make the lashes look fuller or, choose a bolder line, depending on your taste. Most women prefer thin, natural shaping around the eyeline to either enhance the lash line, provide more definition or intensify the color of your eyes. Choosing how subtle or thick the eyeliner should be is discussed at the time of your consultation.

Wet Line Eyeliner (inner lid)

Also available is the "WETLINE" technique where pigment is implanted inside the lid line. Since there is so much moisture on the inner lid, this procedure is helpful and you needn't worry if it can be rubbed off or not. If you've worn eyeliner this way, you will especially love the fact that you CANNOT blink it away !!!

Full Lip Color

To women the shape, size and color of the lips are a focal point of the face. The tiring experience of lipstick rubbing off, smearing onto the fine lines around the mouth or onto your teeth! you can now have permanent lip color or lip liner that compliments your natural skin tone! Shay can help you choose either a liner, the entire lip to be colored or both!. Lip liner can be implanted as either definition around the mouth making it appear the entire lip has color by gradually transitioning the lip liner color so that it doesn't appear as a line but as a natural definition around the mouth. You can also choose a deeper color as the lip liner and then blend that in with a lighter color for the entire lip area. Lining the lips is paramount to creating shape and balance to lips that either need reshaping or women who desire a fuller, more sensual mouth. Another wonderful benefit to permanent lip color is that it can alleviate the look of fine lines around the mouth. When permanent color is implanted properly it can take years off of one's face. Scars can also be concealed and cleft pallet patients have benefited by this procedure as well. Areola Repigmenting

Botox®

Dynamic wrinkles are caused by contractions of the delicate underlying facial muscles every time you smile, laugh or frown. The more emotion you show, the deeper these wrinkles and lines are likely to be. While you may have earned every one of your smile lines, you don't have to show them anymore.

Now, thanks to a new use for an approved drug, dynamic lines can be dramatically softened. The procedure known as cosmetic denervation uses Botox® injections to improve the appearance of forehead worry lines and frown lines, eye laugh lines and crow's feet or other dynamic wrinkles. Newer techniques even allow for gentle facial "shaping" around the mouth and eyes utilizing Botox®.

Botox® blocks impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines. Botox® relaxes the muscles so they do not contract. The contraction of the muscle is the culprit causing the wrinkles. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal facial expression to be unaffected.

Botox® injections have been used safely and effectively for well over 10 years in aesthetics, and even longer for ophthalmological and neurological disorders. Each year, thousands of patients receive Botox® treatments for a variety of conditions including excessive sweating, and it is the #1 aesthetic treatment for treating dynamic wrinkles.

Using tiny micro-needles, a very small amount of Botox® is injected, very precisely, into several locations on the face. Because the needle is so fine and only a small amount of liquid is used, the pain associated with the injections is minimal. Most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. No sedation or local anesthetic is required, and you can resume normal activities immediately. Some patients experience a slight temporary bruising at the injection site which can easily be covered with make-up.

The positive effects of the injections normally last from three to four months and sometimes longer. You will need to have injections about two to three times a year. Treatments for Melasma

Melasma Before and After

Melasma is a dark skin discoloration normally found on sun-exposed areas of the face. It is a very common skin disorder. Though it can affect anyone, young women with brownish skin tones are at greatest risk.

Melasma is often associated with the female hormones estrogen and progesterone. It is especially common in pregnant women (often called the Mask of Pregnancy) women who are taking oral contraceptives, and women taking hormone replacement therapy.

Melasma is effectively treated in our office utilizing crystal-free microdermabrasion, Intense Pulsed Light/BBL light therapy, ablative lasers,chemical peels and utilization of specific skincare products.

Rosacea Symptoms and Therapy

The original name of rosacea was acne rosacea because of its uncommon stage involving skin pustules similar to common acne. The disease actually evolves in stages. The early signs of rosacea are recurrent episodes of blushing that finally become persistent in dark-red erythema (abnormal redness) with facial spider veins. Patients with this problem often have what is called "flushing". Rosacea is common in the 20's and 30's and peaks between the ages of 40 and 50 years. In the worst cases, disfiguring swelling and redness, particularly of the nose (rhinophyma), may develop after many years. Rosacea is a fairly common disease, especially in fair-skinned people of Celtic or Northern European heritage. Although women are more affected than men in the earlier stages by a ration of 3 to 1, men develop the swelling tissue more frequently. Contributing factors include a genetic disposition, gastrointestinal disturbances and bacteria; however, rosacea is always associated with sun exposure, so protection of the skin is important. Rosacea patients often experience increased redness on the central face, less often on the neck and on the V-shaped area of the chest. These patients frequently "flush" which is caused by numerous reasons including sun-exposer, heat, cold, exercise, chemical irritation, strong emotions, alcoholic beverages, hot drinks, and spices. Eventually, the flushing and blushing leads to permanent redness. Treatment of rosacea typically requires several avenues of care. Protection against sunlight is foremost. There are topical medications such as Metrogel or Retin-A, but those have proven to be only moderately successful. More severe disease requires treatment with topical and oral antibiotics. However, to resolve the redness, flushing, and facial spiders veins common with rosacea, treatment with a laser or Intense Pulsed Light/BBL source is easily the best solution. Prior to the development of IPL/BBL, treatment by lasers caused significant bruising on the patient's face. Results were gradual, but fairly consistent. The IPL/BBL system can deliver energy to the facial blood vessels without causing bruising, resulting in resolution of these blood vessels. More importantly, the persistent flushing and blushing can now be significantly reduced with IPL/BBL treatments. Patients can experience periods of minimal to no flushing even when having an alcoholic beverage or hot drink. Also, a beneficial effect associated with treatment of the flushing, patients have experienced improved texture of the skin. Skincare products designed specifically for rosacea can help tremendously.

Treating Wrinkles

Wrinkles are visible creases in the skin. They are associated with aging changes in skin. Frequent exposure to sun results in premature skin wrinkling. Exposure to cigarette smoke is another major factor to premature wrinkling of the skin.

There are two basic types of wrinkles: Dynamic wrinkles are caused my muscle movement (facial expressions). Static wrinkles are always visible and are caused by sun-exposure, smoking, aging, and environmental damage.

We utilize many treatments to aid in the restoration of the skin and the reduction of wrinkles. Botox® is the gold-standard for treating dynamic wrinkles. Results can often by very dramatic and be seen in as little as 3-4 days. Juvederm ultra injections are fillers that given almost instant results and can last up to 12 months. The TCA MicroLaser Peel may be the most exciting treatment for long-term improvement of wrinkles and aged skin. We utilizes a "no-downtime" laser treatment called Skin Tightening to help build collagen in the skin which is very effective in improving sagging skin and minimizing wrinkles.
